PAR-TAKERS GOLF LEAGUE
2005 Season

1) League will be played at Orchard Hills golf course. Unless otherwise indicated we will play from the Black (back) tees, except for seniors who can tee from the blue tees.
a) Play will begin April 27th and continue through September 10th.
b) The outing will be held on Saturday September 10th at Orchard Hills and the banquet will be immediately following at Madison Avenue.
2) Greens Fees for league play will be $14.00 carts are $10.00 per person.
3) League Dues are $80.00 to be paid to Mike Jackson. Full payment is expected by the end of May. If you are unable to meet these terms, please make arrangements with Mike. League dues are used for trophies, prizes and officer fees.
4) Handicap Procedures:
a) Averages will be determined by dividing scores by the last 12 rounds played.
b) New players will establish their average after three (3) weeks and their average will be based on the best three of their last four rounds until they have a full 12 rounds and then their average will have weekly adjustments in accordance with rule 4a.
c) Returning players will use last year’s scores to determine their average and will have weekly adjustments in accordance with rule 4a.
d) Scores will be adjusted according to USGA rules.
e) Handicaps will be determined by USGA rules.
5) Matches will be based on a 22-point scoring system.
a) Low handicap plays low handicap for 11 points.
b) High handicap plays high handicap for 11 points.
c) Players are playing for 1 point per hole and 2 points for total.
d) If your partner is absent, you will use your handicap and average against both opponents.
e) If a player from each team is absent, the two remaining opponents will play for 22 points (2 points per hole and 4 points total).
6) The final two weeks of the season will be used for playoffs.
a) The top four teams in each division will be in the playoffs. In the first playoff week, the first place team will play the fourth place team and second place will play third place.
b) The winner of these matches will play the following week to determine division winners.
c) The division winners will meet in an 18-hole playoff at the outing to determine the league champion.
7) Forfeit Procedures.
a) Any team failing to call in by 4:45pm or failing to show up by 5:30pm is considered to have forfeited.
b) Showing team (at least one player) shall receive 13 points minimum and may play against opponent’s averages in efforts to achieve more than the 13-point minimum.
c) Teams that forfeit receive no points.
d) If a team calls by 4:45pm, then showing team may match cards the following week or with consent of both teams reschedule the match (rule one must be followed).
e) If you show up, you are expected to play!
8) USGA Rules will be used with the following exceptions.
a) Winter Rules including rake and place in sand traps.
b) Lost Ball is one penalty stroke (this does not apply to balls that may have gone Out Of Bounds).
c) Out Of Bounds is stroke and re-hit. It is up to the opponent to ask for a provisional ball to be played. If a player fails to hit a provisional ball and finds that his ball is Out Of Bounds, he must drop at the point of entry and be assessed a two (2)-stroke penalty (since he has taken the distance). You will not be allowed to go back and re-hit. This will only slow play, so if you have any doubt please hit a provisional ball!
d) Out Of Bounds will be played as marked on the course.
9) Rain Out – League Vote
a) A minimum of 16 players present.
b) Majority vote of players present determines decision.
c) Once a vote has been taken, teams may elect to match cards the following week or play a make up at some future date. Both teams must agree not to play otherwise forfeit procedures come into effect.
d)
Since there
is no provision for rain out rounds, opponents will match cards the
following week to
determine the results from the cancelled round.
e) Skins and Par three’s
If there is a rain out and all players have not had a chance to
participate in the remaining holes the money will hold over to the
following week. If one of the par threes has been played by all that
money will be awarded to the person closest to the hole.
10) Scoring make up rounds.
a) Only one round can be made up in any given week. This will mean a team will be playing two matches; the current match and one make up match.
b) If a team finds itself in the position of having more than one round to be made up on a given week, only the oldest round will be made up that week. Additional make up rounds will be resolved in the subsequent week’s play.
c) Exception to this will be made at the end of the season prior to the final position round
11) Attendance.
a) Partners must play together at a minimum of 60% of the time during

11) Notes.
a) If you decide to play extra holes, please turn in your scorecard before you continue.

d) 11th Tee hump. If your ball lands on the 11th tee hump you can take a free drop back towards the tee no closer to the hole.
e) 16th hole Garage Area. If your ball lands inside the fenced in garage area you may take a penalty stroke and a drop back towards the tee no closer to the hole.
f) When the league is full of crybaby’s I quit.
